This time only 25 minutes north from where we currently are. We’re buying our first home and we are thrilled! That’s a photo of it right there. The reason we are moving north is that the homes there are literally 50% bigger for half the price of homes here in the East Bay.
It’s been a bit of a rocky road- we had one house fall through, which I was devastated about. Yes, I literally sobbed. The Bay Area housing market is crazy, there’s cash buyers all over the place who come swooping in, snatching up the diamonds in the rough.
The house is a blank canvas. White walls. White carpet. I’m so excited to decorate, I can’t even tell you. By American standards it’s a ‘small starter home’. But it’s the biggest house Tom or I have ever lived in, as European standards are pretty different to American standards. The house is 3 bed, 3 bath, just under 1600 sq ft, so we feel like it’s a mini castle.
Anyway, I’m sure I’ll be posting some comedy Tom and Tash DIY updates as we go along, so stay tuned. Wednesday we should get the keys. So excited!
